Swiss winters are hard on paws. Grit and de-icing salt sting cracked pads and get licked off later, ice packs into the fur between the toes, and cold wet pavement cuts a walk short. These boots cover all four paws with a waterproof upper and a grippy rubber sole, so the walk carries on as normal and you are not rinsing salt off paws at the door.

Getting Your Dog Used to Them

Almost every dog walks strangely in boots at first — high steps, shaking a leg, stopping dead. That is normal and it passes. Put them on indoors for a few minutes at a time with a treat, then a short walk, then a normal one. Check the strap: snug enough not to twist off, loose enough to fit a finger under. Size by your dog’s weight using the chart above, and measure a paw if your dog is between weights.

Boots are for walks, not all-day wear — take them off indoors so paws can breathe. Check between the toes afterwards for rubbing, especially the first few outings. A boot that keeps coming off is the wrong size rather than a faulty strap. Not designed for long alpine hikes or sharp scree, and fit varies with paw shape, so some dogs simply will not tolerate boots.
