Dry Before the Shake, Not After

A microfibre towel pulls water out of a coat rather than pushing it around, so you get the dog dry in one or two passes instead of soaking three bath towels. Dries much faster than cotton between uses, which matters if you are walking in the rain most of the week. Three sizes, so you can keep a small one by the door for muddy paws.

Please Note

Skip fabric softener — it coats the fibres and the towel stops absorbing. Wash it separately from lint-shedding cotton for the same reason. Dry the ears and between the toes properly; damp there is what causes trouble later.
