Some dogs will bring the ball back a hundred times and still want more. Drop the ball into the funnel and the launcher throws it again, so your dog gets the running they need in the garden while you keep your shoulder. Many dogs learn to reload it themselves within a session or two, which is where it turns into real independent play.

Please Note

• Supervise your dog while it is running, and teach them to drop the ball in rather than put their face over the opening.
• Keep fingers and noses clear of the launch tube while it is switched on.
• Use only balls of the stated size — anything larger can jam the mechanism.
• Fetch is intense exercise. Build up gradually, give your dog breaks and water, and stop before they are exhausted. Speak to your vet before starting repetitive fetch with a puppy or an older dog.
• Not waterproof. Bring it in out of the rain.
